Manila, Philippines (September 24, 2016) – All-hits FM station Wish 107.5 enters its second year in the radio broadcast industry and gaining ground in social media for being the country’s number one FM channel on YouTube, now with more than 85 million views.

After more than a month of test broadcast, the station was launched as “107.5 Wish FM” last August 10, 2014. It was later re-branded as Wish FM 107.5 (pronounced as one-oh-seven-five) for easy recall, competing with more than 20 established FM stations in Metro Manila. A live concert was held during its launch at the World Trade Center (WTC) in Pasay City featuring Original Pilipino Music (OPM) singers. For the past two years, the young station introduced creative ideas and innovation, setting a unique trademark.

Wish FM today is entirely different with the former stations occupying the 107.5 FM radio frequency. It started as NU 107, called as “The Home of New Rock,” in 1987 until 2010. NU plays rock and metal music which became highly popular with the youth and the upscale market. In 2010, it was replaced by mainstream 107.5 Win Radio playing contemporary, pop and OPM music with mass-market appeal until 2014. Later, Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International (BMPI) led by broadcaster Kuya Daniel Razon acquired the management and operations of 107.5, owned by the Progressive Broadcasting Corporation (PBC). PBC also owns UNTV channel 37 (now UNTV News and Rescue). Wish FM plays adult contemporary, ballad and classic hits aside from covers of current pop music and greatest hits, sung by OPM artists.

Wish FM is a brainchild of veteran broadcaster and BMPI chairman and CEO Kuya Daniel S. Razon who started his career as FM disk jockey at DWKY and DWST in late 1980s.

The station puts up a “Wishing Wall” in schools and malls where people can write their own wishes and wishes for others. During its formal launch, Wish FM granted wishes of ten Wishers. For the past two years, several wishes were granted by the station like free concert tickets, birthday surprise, trip to an amusement park, school supplies, eyeglasses, wheelchairs and even a washing machine.
